SCE asked the CPUC to authorize 46.17 billion dollars in revenue for 2025 through 2028; the commission approved 41.78 billion dollars instead, about 4.4 billion less than requested. For a typical non CARE residential customer using 500 kWh a month, the approved decision raises the bill from 171.17 to 187.83 dollars, a 9.7 percent increase, versus the 14.4 percent SCE had requested. The commission issued its final decision on September 18, 2025 after a proposed decision in July 2025.
