As part of the same December 22, 2025 order that resolved BGE's electric multi-year plan true-up, the Maryland Public Service Commission approved a gas-side reconciliation adding about 1.95 dollars a month to a typical BGE residential gas bill. Regulators substantially reduced BGE's combined 152.3 million dollar request, and a 2025 Maryland law will bar this kind of true-up in future multi-year rate plans. The gas increase took effect in February 2026.

What it means for your bill: Your BGE gas bill picked up about 1.95 dollars a month in February 2026 from the same multi-year plan true-up that raised electric bills 72 cents.
