Avista filed a multi year electric rate plan asking for a 111 million dollar, 13.9 percent revenue increase for January 2027, on top of increases already approved for 2024 and 2025. For a typical residential customer using 925 kWh a month that would add about 17.21 dollars to the monthly bill. Washington's Attorney General is challenging the size of the request; the UTC held a public comment hearing on August 27, 2026 and has not yet decided the case.
