This is a separate, newer AES Ohio rate request from the company's 2024 case; it proposes distribution charge increases stretching from 2027 through 2029, and PUCO staff has recommended cutting the company's ask by roughly a third.

AES Ohio, which serves the Dayton area, asked PUCO for a distribution rate increase of roughly 14 percent. PUCO approved a settlement on November 5, 2025 that trimmed the increase, working out to about a 9 percent rise on a typical residential bill using 1000 kWh a month. AES Ohio has since filed a separate case asking for a new three year rate plan covering 2027 through 2029, which was still pending as of mid 2026.
