United Illuminating asked PURA for a 105.4 million dollar, 27.4 percent increase in its annual revenue requirement. PURA's final decision, issued October 28, 2025 for the rate year running through October 31, 2026, approved 450.8 million dollars in total revenue, about 8 percent below UI's ask, and also trimmed the company's allowed return on equity to 9.25 percent. New rates took effect November 1, 2025.
What it means for your bill: UI's distribution charge rose about 9.99 dollars a month for a typical 750 kWh residential customer starting November 2025.
