Eversource filed its first Connecticut electric base rate case in about eight years in mid-July 2026, seeking a 727 million dollar annual increase, an 18 percent residential bill increase, if 2018-2025 storm costs are included, or 451 million dollars (about 11 percent) if storm costs are excluded and handled separately. PURA had already preliminarily approved 933 million dollars of the storm costs while rejecting over 300 million dollars in interest the company sought. Connecticut's statutory review process runs about 350 days, so a decision is not expected until mid-2027.
