PURA's annual reset of Eversource's public benefits charges, federally mandated congestion charge, transmission adjustment, systems benefit charge, competitive transition assessment, and other riders lowered rates by about 4.3 cents per kWh starting May 1, 2026 through April 30, 2027. The main driver was lower charges tied to the Millstone and Seabrook nuclear power contracts plus reduced hardship-protection costs.

What it means for your bill: Eversource Connecticut customers saw roughly a 30 dollar drop in a typical monthly bill starting May 2026, driven by lower nuclear-contract and low-income-assistance charges, not a base rate cut.
