Tampa Electric 2025-2027 base rate settlement

Tampa Electric asked Florida regulators for about 297 million dollars in new 2025 base rate revenue, plus further increases of roughly 100 million in 2026 and 72 million in 2027. The Florida Public Service Commission approved a smaller multi-year settlement effective with the first billing cycle of 2025, close to 185 million dollars for 2025, 86.6 million for 2026, and 9.1 million for 2027. For a typical 1,000 kWh residential customer, the 2025 step added about 9.14 dollars a month, and the 2026 step added about 5.51 dollars more starting in January 2026.
What it means for your bill: Your Tampa Electric base rate rose in January 2025 and again in January 2026 under a multi-year settlement that runs through 2027.
