NIPSCO special contract for Amazon data centers
Pending Rate matter, docket Cause No. 46322 before the Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission.

The filing does not state a typical-bill impact we can verify. We will add one when the commission staff or the consumer advocate publishes it.
NIPSCO asked the IURC to approve a special contract with Amazon Data Services signed September 18, 2025, along with a related power purchase agreement with an affiliated generation company dated November 7, 2025. The case sets terms large data center customers must meet, and consumer advocates including the Citizens Action Coalition have filed objections during 2026. As of mid August 2026 the case was still awaiting a final commission order.
What it means for your bill: This case decides how Amazon's Indiana data center load is billed and how new power plant costs tied to it are shared, which affects whether any of those costs can be spread to other NIPSCO customers.
