In the same filing as its electric case, Rhode Island Energy asked for about 114.7 million dollars more in first-year gas revenue, which it said would raise a typical residential gas customer's bill by 343.53 dollars a year (20.60 percent) for a customer using about 845 therms annually. The PUC's August 21, 2026 decision, siding largely with the Attorney General, approved significantly less than requested, with final compliance figures due by August 31, 2026.
