National Grid asked the DPU for a five-year base distribution rate plan starting October 1, 2024, with a first-year increase of about 131.6 million dollars, or 3.7 percent (7.86 dollars a month for a typical 600 kWh customer), followed by roughly 1.8 percent a year for four more years. The DPU issued a final order on September 30, 2024 approving a modified multi-year plan that took effect that October 1 and continues stepping up distribution rates each October through around 2029; the company's original filing shows the scale of the increases but the commission's exact final dollar figures for each step were not independently confirmed here.
