Mississippi Power adjusted rates under its Performance Evaluation Plan (PEP-6) mechanism, MPSC Docket No. 2019-UN-219, with an updated surcharge bulletin issued June 17, 2025. For the July through December 2025 period, the adjustment added about 5.87 dollars a month to a typical 1,000 kWh residential bill. PEP is a formula-based mechanism that adjusts rates based on the company's earnings relative to a commission-set range, similar in concept to Alabama Power's RSE plan.
What it means for your bill: Your Mississippi Power bill picked up about 5.87 dollars a month in the second half of 2025 through the company's PEP performance rate mechanism.
