Evergy opened a Kansas rate case in January 2025 originally seeking about 192 million dollars in additional revenue. After negotiations with KCC staff, the Citizens' Utility Ratepayer Board and other intervenors, the Commission approved a settlement raising residential base rates by 9.6 percent, about 128 million dollars total, with new rates effective October 1, 2025 and the Commission's formal approval following on November 6, 2025.
