The West Virginia Public Service Commission approved an inflation-based rate adjustment for Appalachian Power worth just over 40 million dollars, in exchange for the company agreeing not to file another full base rate case before June 2027. For residential customers using 1,000 kWh a month, the adjustment adds about 4.84 dollars, a 4 percent increase, effective June 1, 2026. Industrial customers saw a smaller 2.5 percent increase.
